Petra Robinson Inc. & Zumba Fitness
Using her unique creative talents, experience, and industry contacts, Petra Robinson, president of Petra Robinson, Inc., has established a distinctive niche for herself within the fitness industry. She takes concepts and helps turn them into well-known brands such as Zumba, Piloxing, and Balletone. She has represented Zumba as fitness industry advisor for over 16 years, helping direct the growth of Zumba via strategic alliances, conventions, special events, and brand awareness worldwide.
Petra served as Vice President of Special Events and Marketing for the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA), where she developed business relationships between AFAA and numerous other leading fitness organizations and companies and contributed to the growth of the AFAA brand globally.
Always the trailblazer, in 1999 she co-founded "The Yellow Pages of Fitness”—the first online directory of gyms, trainers, manufacturers, and fitness associations. The company was sold to Mad Dogg Athletics. In 2004, Robinson joined forces with "The 3 Alberto's" from Zumba Fitness and was instrumental in developing the education division in the global expansion of the brand utilizing her extensive “Platinum Rolodex” of relationships and contacts within the fitness industry.
She serves on the Advisory Boards of Augie's Quest for the Cure and the Association of Fitness Studios (AFS). She has advised FIBO USA, Piloxing, Century Martial Arts, Callanetics, and NASM/AFAA. She is honored to represent Zumba Fitness and group fitness in general for the IHRSA Industry Partner Advisory Council.
Born in Germany, Petra resides in San Diego, is married to a physicist, has three sons, a Brazilian daughter-in-law, and one grandson.
