IHRSA Industry Partner Town Hall to Convene on May 6

IHRSA interim President & CEO Brent Darden and the IHRSA Industry Partner Advisory Council invite all IHRSA Industry Partners to join them in a conversation about the current state of IHRSA and the industry on Thursday, May 6, from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. EDT.

Shortly after being named interim President & CEO in September 2020, Darden hosted the first such Town Hall gathering among Industry Partners. Darden was widely praised for the open and frank dialogue about the state of IHRSA and the industry at large. Two of the outcomes from that meeting were the renaming of IHRSA associate members to “Industry Partners” and the creation of the Industry Partner Advisory Council to assist and advise IHRSA leadership.

The Industry Partner Advisory Council is a representative body of IHRSA’s Industry Partners who manufacture or supply products or services to the fitness industry. The advisory council has met monthly since its inception in January of this year.

On May 6, Darden and IHRSA Board member Chris Stevenson, founder of Be Military Fit Los Angeles, along with Industry Partner Advisory Council members Daron Allen, president and CEO, VFPnext, and Emmett Williams, CEO (Asia-Pacific) and partner of Myzone, will provide updates on various IHRSA and Industry Partner initiatives. Among the topics to be covered include:

• The IHRSA 40th Anniversary International Convention & Trade Show (IHRSA 2021) move from Los Angeles, California to Dallas, Texas on October 13-15;
• Update on the GYMS Act (legislation to aid the U.S. industry);
• Update on IHRSA’s CEO search;
• Announcement of 2022 & 2023 IHRSA International Convention & Trade Show dates and locations;
