HFA's 2025 Fitness Industry Census Needs Your Input

Your data. Our industry. One powerful report.

HFA has just launched a global survey for the 2025 Fitness Industry Census—a reinvigorated version of one of the industry's most valued benchmarking studies, formerly known as Profiles of Success.

This survey collects confidential data from fitness facility operators around the world and across all segments of the industry, including gyms, studios, and multi-site fitness brands. The result will be a comprehensive, data-driven report that provides actionable insights into the financial and operational performance of fitness businesses.

Operators who complete the survey will receive a complimentary copy of the final report, which includes detailed benchmarks across key performance indicators—helping owners and managers assess their position in the market and make more informed business decisions.

Membership Trends

The census will deliver comparative benchmarks on membership trends, dues and fees, and much more.

What the Report Covers

The 2025 Fitness Industry Census will deliver comparative benchmarks on:

·      Revenue and EBIDTA performance

·      Membership trends

·      Dues and fees

·      Amenities, programs and services

·      Staffing and payroll data

·      Operational expenses and efficiency

·      And more

These insights are invaluable for business operators looking to measure success, identify growth opportunities, and improve strategic planning.

Fly In 1

Aggregated data from the survey helps make the case to policymakers and stakeholders about the economic and public health impact of the fitness industry.

Supporting Industry Advocacy

In addition to its business value, the census plays a crucial role in supporting HFA’s advocacy efforts. The aggregated data helps make the case to policymakers and stakeholders about the economic and public health impact of the fitness industry.

Credible data is essential for defending against harmful regulations and promoting legislation that supports greater access to physical activity through fitness facilities.

Confidentiality and Data Use

All responses are strictly confidential and managed by Industry Insights, an independent research firm. No individual data will ever be shared. All findings will be presented only in aggregate form, ensuring anonymity and privacy for all participants.
