St. Louis, MO—August 30, 2018—When Wellbridge Athletic Club & Spa first opened in St. Louis 20 ago, it ushered in two decades of being the trendsetter of the city’s upscale fitness scene. Since then, St. Louis has caught the fitness bug and a new influx of boutique studios for spinning, CrossFit, yoga, boxing, Pilates, stretching, boot camps and more have recently popped up.
Wellbridge Raises the Bar in St. Louis
Wellbridge Athletic Club & Spa opened a brand new $10 million, 40,000-square-foot facility in the heart of the Centene Clayton Campus.
Now, Wellbridge—the leader in multi-sport athletic clubs and spas for more than 35 years—has raised the bar again with the August 27th opening of its brand new $10 million, 40,000 square foot club & spa, in the heart of a multi-million dollar Centene Clayton Campus. With a vision of Believing in Better, the new club will take the industry-leading examples from its recent club developments and leapfrog forward. “Consumers are telling us it’s time to change,” said Wellbridge CEO/President Ed Williams. “We’re using our team’s innovative ideas and years of experience to jump past today and create a great future for Wellbridge.”
The new club will be perfect for the business executive who has only an hour; the athlete; and the parent who is looking for an energetic place to bring their young children while they get a great workout. The new 2-story club will host the latest in cardio and strength training that is familiar to members, but throw in a strip of turf with sleds and toys from Escape as well as Matrix’s MX4 and a 1,700 sq ft. functional floor. The club will feature two new concept studios—Atlas and Alloy. Both will change equipment and programming every 6-9 months, but launch with boot camp, heart rate training and high intensity programming in Atlas, and mind/body programming in Alloy, from InTrinity and Aerial Yoga to Power Barre. The club recognizes the impact of offering premier group fitness by hosting the finest instructors in St. Louis; the flexibility that its members require through On Demand classes; and ambient to hot yoga. Also among the highlights will be one of the city’s first saline pools, where they will host stand-up paddleboard (SUP) training and create a home for triathletes.
Wellbridge COO JoAnna Masloski talked about the amount of research, team development, strategic risks and associate empowerment that went into opening a club with so many cutting-edge choices and opportunities. “We are so thankful for the opportunity our members and associates have offered us to be able to develop and open this club; couldn’t have happened without their commitment and passion!”
