OVERLAND PARK, KS—October 22, 2018—The Coalition for the Registration of Exercise Professionals (CREP) announces the availability of a new “Employee Verification Center.
- The “Employee Verification Center” eases the burden on employers by simplifying the identification and verification of credentials for current or prospective employees with current exercise professional certifications from NCCA accredited programs.
- Through the “Employee Verification Center” online tool, employers may now directly verify a single professional or a large group of professionals at one time.
The Coalition for the Registration of Exercise Professionals (CREP) maintains the United States Registry of Exercise Professionals (USREPS), an internationally recognized registry of professionals serving roles in health, fitness and sports performance in the United States.
The United States Registry of Exercise Professionals (USREPS) provides verification of valid credentials for the largest number of exercise professionals in the world. With nearly 200,000 certificants, representing five fitness professions, USREPS serves as the sole clearing house for verified NCCA-accredited certifications for Group Exercise Instructors, Personal Trainers, Pilates Teachers, Strength and Conditioning Professionals and Clinical Exercise Specialists.
Central to the mission of the Coalition is to address and remove the barriers that have been identified by various stakeholder groups, including employers that impact the ability of qualified exercise professionals to fully participate as recognized and respected practitioners within the healthcare continuum. CREP is focused on providing adequate consumer protection and earning the confidence and respect of referring professionals.
Because USREPS facilitates the identification and verification of qualified professionals with current exercise professional certifications from the NCCA, allied health organizations and providers should be confident making fitness professionals a part of healthy living recommendations.
CREP’s member organizations:
- American Council on Exercise (ACE)
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- Cooper Institute (CI)
- National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF)
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
- Pilates Method Alliance (PMA)
- Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa)
USREPS can be accessed at USREP website. Visitors to USREPS can search for and positively verify the current credentials of exercise professionals. Each individual’s record includes the current certifications and expiration dates for NCCA-accredited programs. Visitors to USREPS can also query certified exercise professionals from member organizations in their local area, such as by ZIP code or state.
We are excited to announce the newest tool available through CREP which continues the mission of the Coalition to secure recognition of registered exercise professionals for their distinct roles in medical, health, fitness and sports performance fields.
