Halmstad, Sweden – May 7, 2024 – Eleiko, a leading global provider of strength equipment, is pleased to announce the release of its Annual Sustainability Report for the fiscal year 2023. The report highlights Eleiko's dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainability practices across its operations – an essential element of our vision for A Stronger World.

For Eleiko, we believe sustainability involves balancing economic growth, environmental care, and social wellbeing. Our sustainability work is guided by three core values: performance, learning, and kindness.

We pursue outstanding performance by developing and making best-in-class strength products that last far beyond industry standards.

We seek to keep learning about our impact and how we can make the world a better place.

We strive to be kind to each other, ourselves, and the planet.

"Building a stronger world starts with a commitment to responsible practices," said Erik Blomberg, CEO of Eleiko. " Our focus on sustainability isn't just about the environment; it's about empowering people and communities. We aim for a world where people are strong and healthy and act with kindness to each other and the planet. That is why we are dedicated to building a stronger world through our long-lasting strength equipment, training programs, and community outreach initiatives. By empowering people to be their best selves, we can create a stronger world for everyone."

Key highlights from Eleiko's Annual Sustainability Report include:

Product Innovation

Notable new product development during the year includes the continued rollout of the Eleiko Prestera Strength System with the launch of Eleiko Cables, both as integrated and freestanding solutions. The system demonstrates our development focus on range simplification to reduce complexity and direct our investments to fewer products with increased durability and overall quality. At the core of sustainability is to make the products last longer. In the Eleiko Prestera project, we have also focused on minimizing air and packaging material in the shipments, reducing the overall impact of transporting the products.

Supply Chain Sustainability

Eleiko works with suppliers and partners who share its commitment to sustainability. For example, steel is the most critical material as it is the main contributor to emissions in our industry. We continue strengthening and developing our partnership with our steel partner Ovako, focusing on low-carbon footprint solutions for steel production and products. This work is connected to some of the significant green investment initiatives that are taking place in the northern part of Sweden aimed at producing fossil-free steel. Our partner Ovako wants to lead and inspire transition within the steel industry and has reduced their carbon emissions by 58% since 2015.

Reducing Emissions

Eleiko is dedicated to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. The company meticulously monitors and manages emissions across the organization through established procedures. Key focus areas for reduction include materials, production, and transportation.

Community Engagement

Eleiko is committed to fostering and securing strong communities through sustainability and health initiatives. The company believes strong communities and individuals are essential for a sustainable future. Annually, Eleiko engages with both local and global communities through social activities and financial backing, aligning their values or performance, learning and kindness with the actions of their partners and employees.
