March 12, 2018 – Off the back of 300% revenue growth over three years, and a doubling in the number of licenses sold in 2017 versus 2016, digital fitness market leader Wexer – which now serves clients in almost 50 countries on five continents – has strengthened its team with new appointments across all markets.
Following the promotion of Daniel Waide to the newly created role of Wexer CCO, business development and sales expert Nadiem Alawar joins the business as VP North America. A well-known face in the fitness industry, Alawar previously spearheaded the global growth of suspension training brand TRX; other brands that have benefited from his expertise include Mad Dogg Athletic, Stroops and Balanced Body.
Alawar says: “I’m honoured to be part of Wexer’s world-class brand and team, and excited about spearheading North American growth. Operating on the cutting edge of technology – providing a complete solution that puts fitness at people’s fingertips, so they can live better, stronger, happier lives no matter where they are – is very exciting.”
Coming onboard as head of new business Asia Pacific is well-known local figure Ryan Hogan, who joins from the Australian Fitness Network – organiser of Australia’s annual FILEX fitness convention – where he served as CEO.
Hogan explains: “Once in a while, an opportunity comes along that has the potential to change your life. From the moment I first spoke to the team at Wexer, I knew this was one of them. I’m beyond thrilled and excited to become a part of what I consider to be one of the world’s leading fitness industry brands.”
Business development consultants have also been appointed to bolster the teams in the fast-growing UK and European markets, with Ross Payne and Jolijn Spijkerman coming onboard to support European business development heads Adie Meyer and Robert Louw.
Paul Bowman, Wexer CEO, says: “However big we grow, we’ll never lose sight of the smaller detail. We aim to exceed our partners’ expectations on every occasion, with relentlessly high standards and a continual raising of the bar to deliver the highest quality products, services, processes and support, all delivered by our fantastic, fast-growing Wexer team.”
These new appointments come off the back of a notable year for Wexer, not least with the acquisition of London-based mobile app development company CFL (Connected Fitness Labs) in October 2017. This deal saw CFL’s expert team – Jamie Foggon, Alex Williams and Shelley Hogan – join the growing ranks of Wexer to oversee the continued evolution of Wexer Mobile.
The appointment of Karen Mason as content and accounts manager has been another key development in the UK and Europe. Joining from Soho Gyms in Q4 2017, Mason has further enhanced the operational expertise within the Wexer business, providing additional support to operators looking to implement and deliver world-class virtual experiences.
